Just Say No to Stimulus!
The $890 billion stimulus plan is a very bad idea. It is a bad idea on so many levels. First of all where will all this money come from? Don't the morons in Washington know that it was borrowing money that caused most of the problems to start with? The special interests are lining up to get their pet projects and kick backs added to the plan. This is looking like the typical Democratic boondoggle again. Once again the clueless do-gooders in Washington will try to make everyone feel all warm and fuzzy, try to justify their own jobs and existence while making everything worse and the economic recovery even slower. When I want something that I can't afford I don't buy it. I know that if I get in too far over my head I'll be SOL and there won't be any bail out or stimulus package for good old Jay. Maybe the politicians should just leave things alone and let the market forces take over. The cycle will run its course and things will be on the upswing eventually. Remember stagflation and hyper-inflation? That's what happens when you muck around too much with the economy. Sorry folks, the times are hard and going to get harder but don't put your hands out, Uncle Sam can't afford to help. And if your Uncle absolutely positively needs to feel like he's doing something he should just cut taxes and let the special interests suck wind. BTW, I'm not fired up about this at all.

Big companies and banks MUST be allowed to go out of business. The government is creating chaos by bailing out everything that negatively affects the voting populus and their own interests (ah, a pun). Balance the budget, start paying back the national debt, and take the consequences... we will be better for it in the long run. I dream of the day when I pass the electronic sign in downtown Manhattan that shows the national debt and it is counting downwards.
